The film is a reflection upon life and it reflects itself in a surprising time-construction. "...a composition of two triangular pictures, one over the other and touching at their tips. An almost monotonous similarity, subjected to no more than subtle changes, allows the spectator a number of diverse visual perspectives." In Gurtrug 2 (which consists of the words Gurt meaning belt of strap and Trug meaning illusion) several people are shown on a triangular projection plane, lying on the floor and changing positions. One or two of them get up and walk over to a different spot where they lie down again. The double projection works in such a way that the lower triangle stands on its base with its tip pointing up-wards, while the other triangle plane is an inversion of the lower picture, in other words, it is the lower triangle standing on its head. Touching one another at the tips, the triangles are arranged to form the shape of an hour-glass. One film begins at its beginning, the other begins at its end and ends at the beginning. This means that Gurtrug 2 represents a timecross, an X, and that the two films show one and the same picture only at one specific moment and this for no more than a twenty-fourth of a second. This visual structure is re-enacted tonally: two groups of speakers recite a row of numbers. One group begins 5432 1 2345 etc, the other group begins at the same time with 1 2345432 1 etc. Both groups utter the number 3 simultaneously.
